Our group classes for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu run in both Gi and No Gi. Kids classes are open for students aged between 6 and 14 years old. Adult classes are for those aged aged 15+. BJJ classes are run wearing a Gi and incorporate both ground fighting and take down techniques. No Gi classes are run with ‘fight wear’, wrestling or sporting attire.

Both Raph and Brad are available for one-on-one or small group classes pending availability.

Classes FAQ

How many classes do I need to attend?

ESJJ uses an unlimited class’s model. Meaning for one-fee students can attend, as many classes as they wish. The more classes you attend the faster you will see the results of your training, members of the academy are free to train as often or as they wish.

Which classes are best for a beginner?

All classes are aimed at both experienced and beginner BJJ practitioners

Do I need a Gi to come to the BJJ classes

Eventually you will want a Gi to be able to learn and practices all the techniques. However, to start we have loan Gis we can give you for your first few sessions.

What is Open Mat?

At the open mat, session students are invited to spar, learn and collaborate with one and other. Instructors are present but the class is a free flowing relaxed environment.

What is COMBAT JIU JITSU?

Combat Jiu-jitsu is a hybrid version of Brazillian Jiu-jitsu that was modified to combine elements of MMA and sport of Jiu-Jitsu. The key goal of designing Combat Jiu-Jitsu was to make Jiu-jitsu more practical in real-life altercations by allowing competitors to strike each other on the ground with open hand slaps.
